GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 742615
Add OpenStreetMap provider
Last modified: 2017-01-24 21:30:32 UTC
Bug https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=726628 in gnome-maps is about being able to edit data in OpenStreetMap from within gnome-maps. Handling credentials for OSM editing using g-o-a might be a good idea, then gnome-maps could check the presence of a set-up OSM account, and in that case offer the editing capabilities.
Sure, we can do that. I see [1] that OpenStreetMap uses OAuth1 or HTTP basic auth so it should be quite easy to add a provider. [1] http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/API_v0.6
Now that the OpenStreetMap account is handled entirely inside gnome-maps can we close this as WONTFIX?

(In reply to Debarshi Ray from comment #3) > ping Yeah, I think this could be closed now. I guess we could always revisit it in case we change our minds later.
Close as this is currently handled locally by Maps.
