Package: panel
Version: 1.4.0.4
Severity:

>Synopsis:
>Class: sw-bug
System: Athlon 1.0G, Red Hat 7.2, Ximian Gnome

>Description:
X Windows will not completely load. Crashes at panel process with error:

Application "panel" (process 1968) has crashed due to a fatal error (segmentation fault)

It will not close and the 1968 number just keeps going up every time I try to close it. I've tried starting X as both user and root. As root I had to go through Ximian setup, and it still gave me the error when it came up.

>How-To-Repeat:
startx at any user login.

Try deleting ~/.gnome/panel.d/* or even ~/.gnome as a workaround. Dup
of bug 69333.
