dvi file not displayed by evince

Evince gets stuck with high cpu load and increasing memory usage when trying to open the attached dvi file. The file can be opened with xdvi without problems.

Used versions:
evince: 3.14.1-0ubuntu1
libcairo2: 1.13.0~20140204-0ubuntu1
libpoppler44: 0.24.5-2ubuntu4
libpoppler46: 0.26.5-0ubuntu1
texlive-binaries: 2014.20140528.34243-5
