Before

As a message is typed and becomes too long to fit on a single line, the input box expands to accommodate two lines of input.  However, at the same time, the input scrolls so that the first line is no-longer visible.

If more text is entered, the input will be scrolled back again so that all of the input is in view, shortly before there is enough text to flow onto a third line.

Please see the attached screenshots for an example.

This is new since upgrading to Fedora 21 (Empathy 3.12.7).
