Description:
This is running RedHat 7.2 on a Virtual PC 5.0 environment on a PowerMac G4 733.
When I log in as a regular user the panel dies, every time.

Please try the latest gnome-core and gnome-libs from the 1.4.x
releases series. This should be fixed there.
