Description immobilier.frazer 2014-12-12 12:00:15 UTC
Created attachment 292608 [details]
side pane, statusbar

The date in the side pane and on the status bar is not showing correctly. The same is true with the metadata tab of image properties, but not in the details tab. In the details tab the date looks like: "2014:09:15 17:24:30". In the other places it looks like: "a%, 15 September Y% 05:24:30 PM".

It is the same for any camera (Nikon, Canon, Blackberry phone, etc).

I am using image viewer 3.10.2 with Ubuntu 14.04 64 bit, Unity
Comment 1 Felix Riemann 2014-12-12 18:56:34 UTC
That looks like a bug in the translation. It should be "%a" rather than "a%". The same applies for "Y%". That makes eog not recognize the tokens for the year
and the weekday name.

Looking for the fault in eog's translations, I guess you have en_CA as translation.

Btw, it also says "Metrering" in the sidebar. Not sure if that's desired too.
Comment 2 Felix Riemann 2014-12-12 18:58:06 UTC
Oh, I forgot. The date in the details is different from the others as that one is shown as it is delivered by the metadata reader while it is reformatted to a locale-specific format in the other places.
Comment 3 immobilier.frazer 2014-12-12 20:14:39 UTC
That is correct, and it should read "Metering".

This problem has been fixed in the unstable development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. You may need to upgrade your Linux distribution to obtain that newer version.
