GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741363
Add 'Always in Current Folder' button to Mark All Read question
Last modified: 2018-10-25 15:55:13 UTC
I would like the ability to set the default response for a folder so that it will never ask me again whether I want to mark messages in this folder only or to include all subfolders. There is an equivalent setting in Outlook, and it is nice to not have to click the one I want each time. It asks me this regardless of whether I have read messages in the subfolders.
Thanks for a bug report. I didn't find the option in Outlook, but it can be that mine is too old. My Outlook always marks all messages as read in the current folder only, regardless of the unread messages in the subfolders. I made a change in Evolution which: a) adds 'Always in Current Folder' button to the prompt when also subfolders contain unread messages - it makes the dialog wide, I do not know how to handle that better - and when selected then any time later the prompt is abandoned b) when the option is selected with a Shift key down it's shown again, but only when the subfolders have any unread message c) the question for subfolders is shown only if any subfolder has unread messages - it was different before the change, there was enough to have subfolder of the selected folder to show it The dialog "without subfolder" already has "Do not show again", where both share this single option. To unset the option users can run from a terminal: $ gsettings org.gnome.evolution.mail prompt-on-mark-all-read true Created commit c488e5f59b in evo master (3.31.2+)
