Description Marek Černocký 2014-12-10 00:37:52 UTC
Texts from appdata missing in POT/PO files.
Comment 1 Uwe Scholz 2014-12-13 08:52:42 UTC
I added the appdata translation capability in the latest commits:
https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-commander/

Can you please check if this is working for translators of appdata files?

Thanks you!
Comment 2 Marek Černocký 2014-12-13 23:08:40 UTC
I think tags <name> and <summary> should be marked too.
Comment 3 Uwe Scholz 2014-12-14 20:33:47 UTC
I marked only summary for translation as I think the name should not be translated.

Thanks allot for your bug report and your help!
Comment 4 Marek Černocký 2014-12-14 21:39:27 UTC
Name is not translated, but is transliterated to different alphabets e.g. Cyrilic, Arabic, Chinese etc.
Comment 5 Uwe Scholz 2014-12-15 09:55:38 UTC
Sorry, I didn't know that. Is this really the case?

I mean, I could not find a single name translation anywhere in all the appdata files of Gnome packages which I checked.
Comment 6 Marek Černocký 2014-12-16 12:28:33 UTC
Applications with no generic name are for example:

Evince ( https://git.gnome.org/browse/evince/tree/evince.appdata.xml.in ) - single word name

Hitori ( https://git.gnome.org/browse/hitori/tree/data/hitori.appdata.xml.in ) - two words name

Standard supports a localization for "Name"
