GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741311
unable to drag photos out of gnome-photos
Last modified: 2018-01-23 09:23:52 UTC
hi i wanted to use a custom photo for my gnome lock screen. i wanted to use a photo that is on my flickr account and not local. i already have goa set up with my flickr account. first i went to background. i clicked on 'lock screen.' this shows maybe the 20 most recent photos from my flickr account and then goes into local photos. i want to use a photo that is maybe the 50th most recent. so i decided to open up gnome-photos and see if i could see the photo there. i could. i tried to drag it out of gnome-photos and onto the lock screen target in the background capplet - there is no way to drag. i tried favoriting the photo in gnome-photos, but this seems to make it appear in the background capplet pictures tab either. i tried the gear icon in the upper right of gnome-photos when viewing the photo - this allows me to set it as the backgruond but not as the lock screen. i am going to just bite the bullet and find the photo on flickr, download it, and set it as the lock screen - but there are a lot of other reasons i'd want to drag a photo out of gnome photos - to drop it into gimp or inkscape or an upload form on a web page.... or into an email attachment...
I filed bug 741590 for letting the user set the screensaver / lock screen background.
Thanks. Is this bug being left open for the dragging RFE?
(In reply to comment #2) > Thanks. Is this bug being left open for the dragging RFE? Yes.
