GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741310
Thumbnailing fails for gifs
Last modified: 2015-09-26 17:54:40 UTC
For most of the gif files I have, thumbnailing fails (both on animated and static gifs). They open fine in Firefox and eog. I have added image/gif mimetype to the Totem thumbnailer file and it's able to create thumbnails for all of my gifs. My size limit for thumbnails is at 100MB. openSUSE 13.2 x64, GNOME 3.14
I tested this locally, and indeed nautilus didn't generate a thumbnail. But launching test-desktop-thumbnail in gnome-desktop worked, and it worked. I reloaded the nautilus folder where the gif was, and it appeared as well. So I have a feeling this is a problem with nautilus rather than gnome-desktop.
It seems that the attachment was lost when converting to Nautilus bug. Should I upload it again?
(In reply to comment #2) > It seems that the attachment was lost when converting to Nautilus bug. You never attached it actually, I tested with a local GIF file. If that had worked, I would have asked you for your test file. > Should I > upload it again? That shouldn't be necessary.
