Description Milan Bouchet-Valat 2014-12-02 11:05:47 UTC
When a new e-mail arrives, a notification appears in the GNOME Shell message bar at the bottom of the screen. In Fedora 20, clicking on it was enough to raise Evolution's window. Now in Fedora 21 (Evo 3.12.8, GNOME Shell 3.14.2), one click makes another notification appear, saying "Evolution is ready". Clicking on it raises the Evo window.

This looks like the focus-stealing prevention feature of the Shell is triggered. Maybe a timestamp needs to be updated? Or is that a bug in the Shell?

Thanks for a bug report. I'm moving this to gnome-shell, because I do not see any issue in the evolution's code [1], it just calls gtk_window_present(). I also cannot reproduce this under MATE desktop environment.

Isn't this a dupe of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=623395 ?
Comment 6 Adam Williamson 2017-12-12 17:47:20 UTC
I don't think it can be *just* that, no. Tweaking exactly how Shell presents that second notification, as that bug seems to be about, isn't going to resolve this.
