panel crashes immediately after logging in

Package: gnome-panel Severity: major Version: 1.4.0.4 Synopsis: panel crashes immediately after logging in Bugzilla-Product: gnome-panel Bugzilla-Component: Panel Description: This has only started happening in the last month or so. I don't recall installing any new software other than mozilla upgrades. I log in through gdm. gnome starts up. When the panel is started, it crashes immediately. If I then start a new terminal (by selecting the "new terminal" option when I right-click on the desktop) and run "panel &", the panel starts up just fine.
