GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 739062
Close & Open Problems in GNUCash 2.6.4
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:35:30 UTC
Op Sys: Windows 7 I recently installed GNUCash 2.6.4 after using 2.4.15 for a number of years. I have had to revert back to the older version as I'm having problems opening my file and closing the application. When I click X to close the program it hangs and says "GNUCash Not responding" in the top left of the program. This morning I tried to open my file and it would not open saying it cant find the lock file. I managed to get it open but again it would not close when I finished using it. I created a new file of accounts from scratch to see if it would make a difference but it would still not close when I wanted it to. The program works as normal otherwise.
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. The error message you got wasn't that GnuCash couldn't find the lock file, it was that it *did* find a lock file, meaning that either another instance of GnuCash was using the file or that the last time GnuCash had used the file it had crashed before it could delete the lockfile. In the latter case just click the "Open Anyway" button and GnuCash will proceed to open the file. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 738477 ***
