[RFE] Detect clashes in calendar while creating new appointments/meetings
Last modified: 2017-08-31 15:17:11 UTC
Hi, Would it be possible for evolution to detect an existing event and notify me when I'm trying to create a new event that would cause a clash? It would make organisation much easier. Just yesterday I created a new event and today I realise that I've now planned two meetings at the same time :( [asinha@localhost ~]$ rpm -qa \*evolution\* evolution-data-server-debuginfo-3.12.7.1-1.fc21.x86_64 evolution-data-server-3.12.7.1-1.fc21.x86_64 evolution-ews-3.12.7-1.fc21.x86_64 evolution-debuginfo-3.12.7-1.fc21.x86_64 evolution-help-3.12.7-1.fc21.noarch evolution-3.12.7-1.fc21.x86_64 [asinha@localhost ~]$ Thanks, Warm regards, Ankur
Thanks for a bug report. I think if it'll be like: a) check in all enabled calendars (for view, in the tree on the left) + the one where it is going to save, in case it's not enabled b) for single (non-recurring) events c) when saving a completely new event d) check the times only then I think it's doable, but will take its time (some calendars can be slow). Thus rather make it an option? Where to add such option? A nice way might be to click on "save" or "save and close", which would start an activity "Checking for clashes..." with offered buttons "Cancel", "Skip", as an addition for the option "Check for clashes when saving new appointments". But I'm not sure how doable it is. Definitely a 3.14 (or even later) material.
