GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 738554
Differentiate remote from local machines in collection view
Last modified: 2016-09-20 08:16:03 UTC
This is a feature often asked for by people who have lots of remote machines. We discussed this during hackfest at GUADEC 2014 and IIRC decision was that we need some kind of way to do this. One of the ideas was to simply show hostname in the subtitle.
The "fix" might be doing a better job autonaming the boxes. It would indeed be desirable to have the hostname prefixing the box name for remote boxes.
(In reply to comment #1) > The "fix" might be doing a better job autonaming the boxes. If all sources/brokers are added before the boxes are created, that would help but I think this is typically needed by people who already have boxes on a remote machine and they just add them to Boxes. > It would indeed be > desirable to have the hostname prefixing the box name for remote boxes. Then this will be fixed. :)
I think it'll also be good to be able to search through hostname/ip.
Created attachment 306287 [details] Network emblems on remote boxes' thumbnails What about adding a "network" emblem on thumbnails of remote boxes?

I think we shouldn't go overboard with emblems. :) I think we rather want page switchers and/or ready-made searches for this.
