I'm using Kubuntu 14.10. Meld crashes when I select Directory comparison, just as I select any directory from the dropdown list or clicking the "other" from the same dropdown.

Thanks for the bug report. This sounds exactly like a previously reported bug (bug 712582) that ended up being a theme problem unrelated to Meld. If you think this bug is *not* the same, please reopen this report with more details.
