Missing menu

## Summary

Some contextual menues are missing/hidden/invisible in various applications under GNOME 3.14. It's not quite clear where the problem comes from. It also could be the XServer.

## Way to reproduce

- install with mentioned
- download phpStorm
- install phpStorm
- Try to open search all menu with [CTRL]+[SHIFT]+[A] (Output should be like on screenshot attached)

not output of the menu.

## Courious

If you open a second instance of phpStorm and try to open the menu and toggle between the instances with [super] overview a few times the menu does appear.

## Way to reproduce 2

- install a wine application like an old office or something
- try to open a contextual menu with right click

no output

Here I was not able to make it visible

## Tested on

- T500 Lenovo with Intel Chipset
- Desktop-PC with NVIDIA Driver

## Actual behaviour

see above

## Expected behaviour

Menus should be visible instant.

## conclusion

* as this happens in a java and wine environment
* and on intel chipset and nvidia chipset

i assume this must be mutter or the Xserver.

Any help welcome.

The issue regarding phpStorm could be found. It is a theme error within the application. Switching the theme solves the problem.

The issue regarding the wine applications could not be resolved nor determined where it comes from.

Perhaps this is though a gnome problem as it does not occour in other desktops. Same system with iceWM does not show this issue. The menu pops up instant.

The problem regarding the wine Applications seems to be only valid on Office 2010.

I've filed a bug on wineHQ for this additionally because it's not clear where the problem resides -> https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=37383
Comment 4 dr.os 2014-10-11 13:50:51 UTC
I would be thankful if anybody can confirm the wine problem filed in the wine bugtracker.
It is still not clear if it is a wine or a GNOME problem.

* The problem is only in GNOME 3.14 present

Several people (including myself) have found this to affect IntelliJ IDEA:

That is to say, it affects JVM Swing/AWT applications as well. I'm running OpenJDK 7.

At least for Office 2010 apps on wine it's fixed in the last update 3.14.1

Still there are a few annoyances, but it's usable.
