Description Richard Hughes 2014-09-18 09:34:30 UTC
Please consider installing this AppData file: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/hughsie/fedora-appstream/master/appdata-extra/desktop/sound-juicer.appdata.xml

This is used in GNOME and KDE software installers to add the application description and some screenshots. We'd love to showcase more applications, but without the extra data file we can't. The AppData file needs to be installed to /usr/share/appdata/ on Linux and the basename needs to match the .desktop basename. It would also be great if you could integrate the file with your translation system (e.g. intltool) to make the descriptions translated.

See http://people.freedesktop.org/~hughsient/appdata/ for more details; thanks!

Richard

Thanks for the link, I've been meaning to do sometime about an AppData file for a while. I'll set it up for translation and try and get some more recent screenshots in the next couple of weeks. Is it ok to host the screenshots on the wiki?

Yes, that's fine. They are mirrored by the distribution anyway. Thanks!

Add an app data file

I've updated the screenshot which is hosted on the wiki. I'm not sure
how wise that is given the warnings that are displayed when one
uploads an attachment about the get link changing. I guess the
screenshot could be checked into git instead and the link changed to
point to it at https://git.gnome.org.

Thanks to Richard Hughes for supplying the app data file.

Add an app data file

I've updated this to use appstream-util to validate the appdata file
and moved the screenshot to be in git rather than on the wiki. Richard
if this looks ok to you I'll commit it.

Thanks to Richard Hughes for supplying the app data file.
