Please add a translator comment for this strings that explains _what_ it is that we will create something new of. In many languages translation will differ depending of the gender of the object it refers to.

Added comment: _New is the menu item under the File menu on OS X which creates a new empty document.

Please let me know if that is sufficient information for proper translations.

Yeah, that is sufficient. Actually: "Translators: 'New' refers to a document" would be enough.
