Confuse interaction when wacom calibration is triggered after connecting an external display
Last modified: 2016-03-10 14:57:45 UTC
I have a Thinkpad X220T (ISDv4 E6) and the following settings: 1. At office: Dock station connected to 2 external displays (DisplayPort and VGA). The external displays are ON, the laptop display is OFF. 2. At home: 1 external display connected to Display Port. The external display is ON, the laptop display is OFF. 3. Other: Only laptop. The wacom is calibrated. Here is the confusing behaviour: Every time I switch to setting 1 or 2 (plug an external monitor) I get the message "Calibration needed". If I press "Calibrate", the control center is opened on "Wacom Tablet", with the "Calibrate" button disabled, and apparently no interaction required. What is the user supposed to do? Why do I get notified on an action that I cannot perform? When I first saw the message, I thought it would ask me to map/calibrate the tablet with respect to the external display. Or even more, when having 2 displays, to which one I wanted to map it. Even nicer would be; be able to rotate the laptop display, and using it as a tablet for the external display. This is in an Ubuntu 14.04 (32 bits), with gnome 3.12.2. Please, let me know if you need more information or to perform an action.
