GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 735803
Review and clear up license for photos and code
Last modified: 2014-09-16 10:15:41 UTC
- Most of the backgrounds are CC-BY-SA (see AUTHORS) but the rest of the module is GPL (as per COPYING). Those are not compatible because the "attribution" is an additional restriction on top of the GPL - Blinds.jpg is copyrighted but doesn't have any explicit license. So it's not under a permissive license and cannot be used. An adequate fix for this would be to: - relicense all the data files under a CC-BY-SA version - remove Blinds.jpg or have it relicensed under a permissive copyright
According to bug 646781, the images at that time (which included Blinds.jpg) were GPL, which is also what is currently indicated by the COPYING file. However, it would be good verify this and state it more clearly in the AUTHORS file.
Sure, go ahead!
Fine for me guys!
