long lines are slowing down the event handling.
This is supposedly a stable version as it is on Ubuntu 14 as the stock gedit.
Somebody probably needs to backport something because gedit is barely usable on such files. I pity a person with an even older machine than mine. We see the wastefulness of the quad core programmers.
