Description Ulrich.Windl 2014-08-22 12:11:36 UTC
GIMP can save settings of a filter, allowing to re-apply it.
It would be an useful enhancement if GIMP would allow to save any combination of settings (e.g. filter, brush (size, properties, color, etc.), or other operation (like scaling)) as "hot pick"; that is a menu item or hot key that executes the "hot pick" without further interaction.
So "hot picks" would allow to change between virtual drawing tools (think of different pens with their unique property), or execute "synthetic operations" (having to use only one click instead of multiple clicks and interactions).

The benefit seems to be increased productivity and a reduced error rate by avoiding redundant interactions.

The minimum number of possible "hot picks" should be three (not one as we have with "repeat last filter").

I recall something similar - a bug about user-defined menus, maybe? Didn't find it yet, though.
