GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 735105
Allow hidden mounts as a per-mount option
Last modified: 2018-09-21 17:43:01 UTC
The use case would be a program which wants to mount some point for its own usage, not for user consumption. Mounts points are therefore a mean to an end, not the end goal. And in such a case, you don't want these mount points to be listed by various other programs and seen by the user: this would clutter the file manager or other UIs with some mount points useless to the user, and most likely very ephemeral. See the discussion there: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gvfs-list/2014-August/msg00004.html Such a feature would likely rely on bug 585423 being implemented first.
