GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 734509
Memory leak - gnucash.exe consumes ram and eventually crashes
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:32:50 UTC
I noticed that GnuCash would crash every so often after trying it out. The errors were different but I think I have found the cause for one of them. System: Windows 7 (64-bit), 12gigs ram Steps to reproduce: - Start GnuCash 2.6.3 - Create a new database (both XML and MySQL storages work) - I selected "Common Accounts" as the template - Use the rest of the defaults and save the file - Open task manager and observe the ram used by gnucash.exe - Expand and collapse the account categories repeatedly - You should see the ram used by gnucash.exe increasing each time a category expands or collapses - Eventually, Windows will report gnucash.exe as stopped responding (ram usage was around 1.35g the last time I tested).
Another thing I've just noticed, moving the mouse in a circle over the GnuCash window without clicking anything also increases the memory consumption but at a slower rate.
