GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 733541
Messaged from outbox are never resend
Last modified: 2016-05-16 11:10:38 UTC
If something fails during moving messages from "outbox" to "sent" folder, for instance when you disconnect, messages stays queued in outbox, showing an error banner on the top. There is no option how to force this messages to be resend and they haven't been moved to "sent" within few days. Thus they will never appear in "sent" folder, not ever being backed up. Please provide a mechanism to try to move messages to "sent" folder, either triggered manually via button or some automated mechanism to fix this issue.
If the message remains in your Outbox, then it will never be put in your Sent Mail folder because it hasn't been sent. Geary will auto-retry sending messages in your Outbox. The real issue here is why the message isn't sending. What does the error message say? Is it one message that doesn't send or all of them?
Message was indeed sent, it is claimed both by Geary itself (see attached screenshot) and also by recipients responding to the message. However, because message is never moved from Outbox to "Sent Mail", I'm loosing history of sent messages. This does not happen for all the messages. I suspect this is a subject of network connection change (e.g. VPN on/off, wired/wireless). If you want me to try particular scenario, or attach more logs, please let me know.

Like the other bug, I need a log trace to debug this. If you could follow the instructions I posted there and reproduce this problem, I can see if I can figure out what's going on.
