GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 733341
Evrything is empty with gtk+ from git master
Last modified: 2014-08-14 19:20:07 UTC
When I run Geary from git master against GTK+ from git master, I not see my accounts and their folders/tree in the sidebar, and I not see the sidepine of the preview message and also nothing in the message preview itself.
I don't get "Evrything is empathy" - better bug summary welcome.
Created attachment 281084 [details] Screenshot - Geary viewes are empty at all (I just removed my address from the screenshot).
This is so screwed up, I have to wonder if it's a configuration problem with GTK+. Are you running Wayland, for example, or something else odd? If you run Shotwell under GTK+ master, does it look correct? The sidebar code between Geary and Shotwell are almost identical. I guess what I'm saying is, if GTK+ has changed so drastically that Geary runs like this under it, there's a really serious backwards-compatibility problem that needs to be addressed. I suspect the issue is more mundane.
Shotwell works very well. I'm running on X11. I checked it now on MATE to see if it DE related, but the same problem on MATE - on clean user I added a new account and I still see nothing.
Btw, it very annoying. I use gmail interface for two weeks, and I just wait to the moment I can to run geary again.
Do you have this problem if you run a stable version of GTK+? If not, a git bisect might be in order, to determine what caused this change.
Geary works again, with gtk+ from git master.
Huh. I wonder if it was commit b72b640.
