GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 732420
Print / page settings incorrectly processed
Last modified: 2014-08-15 08:49:35 UTC
I am attempting to print an image to a custom media size. The media has been configured in the windows print service for the printer (HP 2100) and is visible as a media option, but GIMP consistently tries to print to A4 instead of my selection. Using File--> Page Setup The paper is listed as A4. Changing to my preferred media, hitting "OK" and then going back into the same screen again shows A4 (despite the fact I have set the preferred media as the default media for the printer). Using File--> Print... Selecting my preferred printer from the list and viewing its properties, again the media defaults to A4, despite windows being configured for my media preference. After selecting my media on this screen and switching to the "Image Settings" tab the preview still works under the assumption of A4, not my selected media. Printing ultimately fails due to print being submitted in the context of A4 and not my custom media dimensions. This is not a case of only default printer settings being considered, as changing the default printer to my intended target printer has no effect.
Submitted as major on grounds that it is preventing me from printing in the way I need.
