Description Jo 2014-06-27 10:20:01 UTC
rearranging tabs makes his content unavailable.
To bypass the bug, i've to switch between grid and list view. And when this setting is unavailable (grid/list view) I've to detach the tab and dock it again.

What tabs are this?

Jo, we need your feedback on this and your other bugs in NEEDINFO status.
Comment 3 Jo 2014-08-16 10:20:52 UTC
Here i am. :)
sorry if my terminology is not specific: i always try to explain in the simplest, clearest way i can.
With tabs i mean: Layers, Paths, Dynamics, Colors, ect.

When i rearrange such a tab, (moving it from one Dock area to another dock area-dock areas are delimited by blue lines) the content greys out, becomes unavailable. I have to detach and attach it again so that the content is available again.

By available, you mean a grey area where nothing is shown at all, or the usual interface but it doesn't accept any input?

with "greyed out" i mean the usual interface but icons:
- accept no input
- look desaturated

more info:

with "tabs" i meant dockable dialogs.
like: colors, brushes, palettes, gradients, ect.

i usually lock dialogs. But sometimes i re-arrange dialogs and when i do so, the moved dialog grey's out. A detach and attach move on place fixes the bug, so i can access dialog options again

Does this still happen with 2.8.14?

yes
Comment 9 Kristian Rietveld 2016-04-17 01:01:46 UTC
Confirming.

This does sometimes happen. What seems to be the problem is that the drag-end signal is not always emitted at the end of the drag. The DnD implementation on OS X in GTK+ needs some review and fixing ...
