Description Joachim Breitner 2014-06-23 16:08:31 UTC
Since 3.12 or 3.10, evolution no longer checks for mails in all folders (even in non-subscribed folders), despite the corresponding setting ticked.

The client is 3.12.2-1 on Debian, the server is dovecot IMAP.

Thanks for a bug report. I have that option set in one of my IMAPx accounts too and it does check for new messages in them to me, both in 3.10.x and 3.12.x, the same as in the development version of the evolution.

Is it reproducible immediately after start? Does the same happen if you click the Send/Receive button at the top toolbar? Could you disable all other IMAP account and gather a log from your connection, please? You can get the log with this command:
   $ CAMEL_DEBUG=imapx evolution &>log.txt
but please be aware that it logs everything, including actual message's content, email addresses, folder names and so on, sometimes even login names and passwords, thus before you'll share it anywhere, please make sure it doesn't contain anything private.

I do not know of any better way how to debug this, as I said, it works fine for me.

Thanks for your response. From my observation, it also happens when press the Send/Receive button. I can do more detailed debugging, but I think I’d rather wait for 3.12.3 to hit Debian (https://bugs.debian.org/752722), to avoid hunting down bugs that have been fixed. Maybe it is just the same bug that sometimes yields in a crash that somehow corrupts some internal data structure.

Joachim: Is this still a problem? If so, in which Evo version?
