tmp dir under ~/.cache is not delete when fileroller is closed
Last modified: 2020-11-11 19:13:42 UTC
1) open or view a file inside an archive file (just wiew it, not extract) 2) a temporary folder called ".fr-xxxxxx" is created in ~/.cache, and it is contain a copy of viewed file 3) closed file then cloase also file-roller 4) the temporary folded previously created is not deleted from ~/.cache... Is this the intended behaviour or should be better remove the temporary folder? Thanks Andrea
It has been reported to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/file-roller/+bug/1444210 "file-roller, also known as Archive Manager, doesn't delete files that are previewed without extracting them to a known location first. These previews are stored in ~/.cache/.fr-<random string>."
bugzilla.gnome.org is being replaced by gitlab.gnome.org. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use file-roller and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a currently supported version of GNOME (currently that would be 3.38), then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/file-roller/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (volunteer workforce and time is limited).
