Description hotmusicfan 2014-05-20 22:14:34 UTC
Hello!

The main problem is that by default the user cannot select few files or folders among all, marking them using mouse/touchpad; this action is possible only when viewing contents as icons but in this situation very often not all of the contents can be visible at the same moment or the desired items for selection can be on 'uncomfortable' places on the screen.

If this can be corrected it will be very cool :)

Hello, thanks for writing this bug report.

This is something we want to get fixed too, and there are already some cool mockups of how this could work. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gnome-design-team/gnome-mockups/master/nautilus/nautilus-next/selection-mode.png This mockup is already some months old and the final solution is not set in stone.

I'm marking this report as a duplicate of bug 138931 because that's where all the related reports have been linked.

(While this is not fixed, here is a tip: while holding the CTRL key in your keyboard, you can select a few files and folders. This works both for list view and icon view.)
