This is what I'm getting when opening a file with gst-play-1.0 with vdpau-va-driver (version provided by Ubuntu 14.04) and radeon (free drivers) graphics (but same happens using nouveau)

Mh, sorry... The crash actually seems to be fixed by this vdpau-driver commit:
