Description Mattias Eriksson 2014-05-01 19:06:38 UTC
I just spent some time translating gnome-software. However, when I'm checking the translation I noticed that some software categories doesn't get translated. If you open gnome-software with LANG set to de_DE, then click on the category for "Development tools" you will still see the subcategories in English and not in German. This seems to be the same for different languages, as I said I first saw it when I translated it to Sweidsh but I could reproduce it on the stable version using German.

To reproduce with german:
LANG=de_DE gnome-software
click on the category "Entwicklunswerkzeuge"
Expected result: All the subcategories should be in German
Actual result: All the subcategories is in English, except the Featured and Other.

It would be good to know something about why it is set to RESOLVED, is it verified that it works?
I just pulled from git master and can still reproduce this.

Ok, I found the fix in git with the menu spec update. Also, I had failed to pull the latest version from git, when I did that I could verify that this is infact resolved. Nice job!

After more testing I still see the problems with
msgctxt "Menu subcategory of Network"
msgctxt "Menu subcategory of Addons"
msgctxt "Menu subcategory of Utility"

However, I checked the file src/plugins/menu-spec-common.c and it seems to match... strange. Maybe I'm just reading things wrong.
