If the summary (title) of an event that spans multiple days is too long, it will be ellipsized to the cell of its starting day (or, if extending to another calendar week, the first day of that week).

It would be preferable if the summary could extend as far as the spanning bar reached on a single line.

California is not under active development anymore and saw its last non-cosmetic code changes in March 2016: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/california/commits/master

Its codebase has been archived in https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/california/issues/1
