Description drx 2014-04-20 15:27:23 UTC
I have two computers for which I want to sync notes.

Both notes databases are completely different.

I use the local directory sync option with a network drive.

Syncing from gnote A into an emtpy directory:
Directory get populated as it should.

Syncing from gnote B into the same directory:
gnote B crashes.

Syncing from gnote A again works, but is relatively useless. gnote B will always crash.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it.
Can you get us a stack trace? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance!
Comment 2 Aurimas Černius 2014-04-21 20:16:07 UTC
I can not reproduce it localy.
If it's reproducible reliably to you, please, try to obtain a stack trace.

I cannot get an error in the stack trace. The program "exited normally", but it quits, leaves a "lock" file in the sync directory and did not sync any notes.

(gdb) run
Starting program: /usr/bin/gnote

Using host libthread_db library "/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libthread_db.so.1".

[Thread 0x7fffe997f700 (LWP 11728) exited]
[Inferior 1 (process 11722) exited normally]
(gdb) thread apply all bt
(gdb) bt
No stack.
(gdb) quit

File details on my sync attempt I attached to this report.

Is there another way I can help?

I am using Ubuntu-Gnome 14.04 and had this problem in all prior versions as well. However, gnote was only available in a very outdated version before 14.04.
