Description Abhinav 2014-04-20 07:54:28 UTC
Gedit hangs when I click on editor font option and also hangs if you search for a font. Sometimes it becomes unresponsive longer period.
While waiting for gedit to become responsive and the font selection dialog to load the cpu on one of the cores reaches 100%.

hi, work fine for me but i have a ssd, maybe i didn't notice a delay because of that.

Please try with the gtk3-widget-factory font widget to see if you still have a problem. Can be a Gtk problem.

I am sorry but I didn't get you.
Comment 3 sébastien lafargue 2014-04-21 09:12:27 UTC
i'm just saying that Gedit uses Gtk widgets in this case and to be sure that it's the fault of Gedit or Gtk+, you must try on another Gtk+ font widget.

So, open a terminal and writes "gtk3-widget-factory".
In the appearing window, you have a pure gtk font widget, now you can see if this one is working as expected or not.
