Description Abandoned account 2014-04-20 07:17:17 UTC
After upgrading to GNOME 3.12 I cannot open mail delivered to a local mbox file with Evolution. The messages are displayed on the message list. In the mail preview pane I can see the alert box that it was not possible to download the message. The detailed part of the alert says that the message of the specific number from a directory cannot be downloaded due to a bad argument. The directory displayed in the message is in the standard local mail delivery directory: /var/mail/.

Thanks for a bug report. Do you still see this issue, please? I enabled one of my spool accounts here and it can read messages from /var/spool/mail/mcrha here, which is quite the same as /var/mail/mcrha.

I found couple misconfigured mbox accounts here, they have no Path for the mbox file set, and some of them even do not have properly set a sending account. A re-configuration is required for these accounts. I do not know how that happened, though, I have those accounts rather as test accounts, usually disabled. It can be some migration code failed for some reason.

Do you recall from which exact version of evolution you updated, please? Knowing the exact version of evolution which you currently use would be also helpful.

I am sorry, but I don't remember what exactly was version of Evolution I was using back then. Now I use 3.12.11 and the problem is gone. I might have done a few updates in due time.
