login without password

Duplicate of: Bug #1304342

System: Ubuntu 14.04 beta2
GDM 3.10.0.1
GnuPG 1.4.16

Summary:

After entering the disk encryption password, gdm fails to prompt for a login password and unlocks the gpg/seahorse keyring.
Automatic Login was/is disable. This happened after the last update (today) and after rebooting the second time.
The display manager seems to have crashed prior to the bug.

Entering "/n" followed by "/0" (without "") crashes gdm

This might be related.
Comment 4 koko 2014-04-09 12:41:04 UTC
Notice: the first time the bug occurred it seemed like a runtime error.
After unlocking the disc encryption, enter was pressed at least once shortly after gdm started.
Comment 5 koko 2014-04-09 13:18:45 UTC
The current Version gdm_3.10.0.1-0ubuntu3.debian.tar.gz
seems to have solved the problem. I can not crash the DM by entering "/n", "/0"

Therefor the original bug might be solved in version 3.12.x

Entering "/" does not work anymore (letter disappears after 1 second)
However, entering "/" again, does work. "/" does not disappear again.

This part might also affect gdm_3.12.x
Comment 6 koko 2014-04-21 19:42:03 UTC
It seems to still be possible to randomly crash the DM, but I was not able to pass the password prompt yet again.
