GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 727475
Banshee updates 4th gen. iPod shuffle but added songs don't play on iPod
Last modified: 2020-03-17 09:53:40 UTC
Created attachment 273446 [details] Debug output from banshee execution. I previously had a problem where Banshee wouldn't complete adding music to my 4th gen. iPod Shuffle but I managed to get that resolved. Now, when I add a song to the iPod, Banshee appears to add it properly. I can play it directly on the iPod from within Banshee, and from within RhythmBox, and when I connect the iPod to a Windows system, iTunes can see the song. However, when I try to play that song on the iPod, itself, it doesn't play. If I add the same song to the same iPod Shuffle using Rhythmbox, the song plays fine in Banshee, Rhythmbox, and most importantly on the iPod itself (with ear phones being used). I created a log file by running this command: $ banshee --debug > banshee.log Banshee _used_ to load my iPod just fine, but that was one or two Ubuntu releases ago and I'm not sure what changed.
I forgot to mention. I'm running on Ubuntu 13.10 Linux (64-bit).
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
