When the global scaling factor is used (on high-resolution screens), websitesare blurry, while the UI is sharp. It seems they are not rendered to device pixels.

Yes, I'm also finding "Web" blurry on my Mac Retina display. On some sites it's hardly noticeable, but others look terrible. It isn't just text, images are getting blurred too. Compare these two screenshots of youtube's header, one from epiphany/"Web", one from Chromium, both configured to use the same fonts. The YouTube logo is an image, but the GB and the Upload and Sign in buttons are text elements.
