Description Andreas Nilsson 2014-03-17 10:54:59 UTC
Looking at Disk Usage Analyzer it has a very nice animated sliding transition when going between the disks and the details. It would be nice if photos could use a similar transition when stepping between the current and the previous and next photo.

I have now pushed an initial implementation to master. I can think of ways in which we can make the animations smoother, but before doing anything fancy I would like to fix bug 731391

I tried this the other day, and it felt very slow and jerky, often to the point where it was hard to discern the sliding transition at all.

While it would be great to have a slide transition, I think we should hold off using it if we can't do it nicely.

Reopening, since I really think this needs to be reverted for 3.14.
