GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 725312
add an icon for "Save all attachments"
Last modified: 2016-10-07 13:50:46 UTC
The item "Save all attachments" in the drop-down menu of a message reply is very handy. I think that this feature should be more visible. What about adding an icon close to the attachments (at the bottom of a message)? A "save icon" with the tooltip "Save all attachments".
Just realized that if I right-click on the attachment I get the two options: "Save as" and "Save all attachments". This is great, but still I think that an icon would make the feature more visible for new users. For example, in Gmail there's a download icon to download all the attachments as a .zip file. I think that my mind was influenced by this and there are many Gmail users around :-)
We could certainly consider adding a button to make the feature more prominent.
In the work for Bug 765516, I've made the attachment icon at the top of each message a save-all button.
Although whether that is a good thing in the long run is debatable - perhaps the user should be able to see what they are saving when they do a save-all. See also Bug 720920.
Fixed on master by 898fa33, as part of Bug 728002. The "has attachments" icon on individual messages is now a button that invokes Save All.
