Description sworddragon2 2014-02-21 16:24:31 UTC
Originally I have opened a bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1260236

As soon as SciTE scrolls it will begin to flicker as confirmed by some users in the other bug report. Interestingly building SciTE directly from upstream solves the issue. But I'm opening this ticket now here too in case this should be really a GTK+ bug.

Any idea which upstream change fixed the problem? Maybe GTK 3.10 "just" changed behavior and it took SciTE developers to adapt to it?

Was this also reported to the SciTE developers?

It appears also on identical versions which is annoying. I don't know what is the difference between a compiled upstream version and the package (currently imported from debian).

> Was this also reported to the SciTE developers?

Currently not but if you think this could be a bug in SciTE I will create a ticket on the tracker.

no leads for this, and drawing in gtk has been pretty extensively reworked since 3.10
