Thanks.  Is this being done in all applications?  We are entering UI freeze now and I would prefer devhelp to work like other apps.

I use this for sometime, and now I see is added to baobab, so I think
we can to do this.
there is a problem only with very long menus, so in devhelp it posslbe,
and look nice.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

Ironic, you pushed the patch after the use-popover in
gtk+ master changed to TRUE ;-)
