Description Bastien Nocera 2014-02-08 13:42:22 UTC
Not easily achievable. I would remove the "stream information" type of data from the properties, and offer something more akin to gnome-documents' properties page, gathered from grilo's metadata (title, source, creation/modification date, location).

To resolve the title of the bug, a "Properties" item could be added to the selection mode action bar.
Comment 3 Allan Day 2014-07-15 16:19:41 UTC
Also, we are recommending that a context menu is available from content grids. This is an update to the selection mode design pattern:

Comment 4 Allan Day 2014-11-18 14:18:12 UTC
Making this a 3.16 target, since it's a basic piece of functionality that's currently missing. (You should be able to view the properties for a content item without having to play it first. This is particularly bad if you are unable to play the content item because of a missing codec.)
Comment 5 Jakub Steiner 2014-12-01 13:42:44 UTC
I'm interested to see a use case for the multi-select properties. Using the selection mode is advised for performing action on a selection, ie. more than one video clip. I may be overlooking one, but I'd avoid selection mode for this.

Having the context popover to select properties of a clip before playback seems very appropriate to me (learning about a video before playing it, not having to buffer it from a remote location or in case it's unable to play back...).

not really a blocker, dropping target
