GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 723165
Faad and libav missing in the build for OS X
Last modified: 2014-02-04 22:17:22 UTC
Faad and the whole libav is missing in the binary build for OS X maintained by the GStreamer Team and available at http://gstreamer.freedesktop.org/data/pkg/osx/1.2.2/ The build also miss an AAC encoder. I would suggest faac, but Sebastian suggests voaacenc which is also missing in the build. Without it or faac and faad, mpeg-4 audio is really hard. They are all here. Did you go on "Customize" during installation and selected the restricted and libav codec packages there?
Hi Sebastian. I'm afraid I did not. I apologize. I did not even notice, that there was this customize button. Should it be more intuitive and install everything as default ? Perhaps, perhaps not. Reinstalling, I see faad and a libav based aac encoder is available. As said, faac would be nice to. But that require a feature request. Not sure how to create that though.
