Description Fabian Greffrath 2014-01-28 09:49:37 UTC
When I edit file A and click on File -> Open to open file B, the directory containing file A is shown and the first file in that directory (depending on the current ordering) is already selected in the Location field. That means, if I now type "B" in order to select file B, the letter "B" is added to the beginning of the pre-selected file name - resulting in a non-sense file name that gedit cannot open.

This is driving me crazy!

Either, the pre-selected file name should be "marked" (as if double-clicked) so that the first key I press overrides it or there should not be a file name pre-selected at all.

Thanks,

 - Fabian

This particular case has already been fixed (should be in gtk+ version 3.10.7, released 2014-01-27). For more info see the the original bug.
