GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 722998
Document safe moves and super safe moves preferences
Last modified: 2015-01-26 00:52:20 UTC
On the game type page, the Mallard user help mentions the use safe moves and use super safe moves preferences. It would be good to explain more fully how these work. These could arguably be split off to a separate page, since they're not really related to the game mode.
BTW the difference: safe moves prevents you from making a move that will cause you to die, unless every move will cause you to die, in which case it will let you die. Super safe moves prevents you from moving even if you have no safe moves (in which case you can still teleport away). Both are enabled by default.
I tried a game with only the Super safe moves checked and it did not stop me from making an unsafe/dying move. Should both the moves be selected for the super safe move to work?
Sigh, that seems to be correct...
Created attachment 271396 [details] [review] Prohibit super safe moves without safe moves This combination of checkboxes makes no sense. Discovered by Anna in bgo#722998 I'm going to push this fix to master, so there's no need to document this nonsense. Thanks for pointing it out.
Has that patch gone in yet?
