GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 722803
initial setup window has no headerbar
Last modified: 2021-06-05 16:29:42 UTC
Right now in buildmaster, initial setup is supposed to have a headerbar with a Next button. But the window is undecorated. I *suspect* this is fallout from the GTK+ changes to how headerbars work, possibly interacting with the special initial setup mode of the shell. Anyways, a current workaround: Alt-F2, then "adduser someuser; passwd someuser". Then reboot.
It seems that "adduser" is not in continuous, I think that you meant "useradd". Thanks for the hint!
Oh, and also Ctrl+Alt+F2 (available from the "Send Key" menu in virt-manager) and not Alt+F2.
I tested continuous today (current at --2014-03-01 14:36:17--) and the header bar was working fine. I was able to create the user and proceed to the first login without issues.
Still broken here (-devel-debug 2fdd03f5). Maybe it's a race condition? Although if so, I haven't seen a header bar in a while.
I have seen headerbars here locally too, using git master of gnome-initial-setup with 3.11.90
gnome-continuous is not under active development anymore. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/gnome-continuous Closing all its open tickets as part of housekeeping.
